If you thought you knew the game of tic-tac-toe, think again! Slideways, by R&R Games, takes all of the rules and flips them on their heads– or at the very least, slides them around a bit!
In this reinvention of the classic game, the goal is to get four in a row, either horizontally, vertically, or diagonally. But there’s a catch– players can change the board itself by sliding any of the four rows to trick their opponents, block an enemy win, or line up the perfect victory!
Here’s how playing the game works: two players choose one color each: red or yellow. Then, on each player’s turn, he or she can do one of two things: either turn an empty (blue) space to his/her own color, or shift one of the board’s four rows one click in either direction. The rows are attached to the board by our circular magnets, and wavy ridges on both the board and the rows ensure that each row stays in place exactly where you need it. Play ends when one player has four tiles of his/her color in a row.
