Gold Circle Films and DJ2 Entertainment have announced that they will be adapting the upcoming video game We Happy Few into a live-action film. When asked about how the idea of making a film out of their game was approached by the film studio, Guillaume Provost, head of Compulsion Games, said, “Dmitri, Stephan and Dan approached us enthusiastically and with really solid ideas about how to adapt our game to film, while retaining its menace, dark humor, and central themes. We’re gratified at how they and Gold Circle have taken to the project.”
With the game still in its Early Access phase, it is an interesting move to start throwing around a movie idea this soon into the game’s life. However, We Happy Few has shown a lot of promise so far just from it’s E3 demo and what we know about the concept of the game.
