Dream Corp LLC. is off to a strong start with their first episode, as they do an incredible job of establishing character, environment, and a strange sense of humor all within a 15-minute time-span. The show is like nothing I have ever seen before on television, as it mixes live-action television with rotoscope animation. Rotoscope animation has never been used before on Adult Swim, and it was interesting to see how it was incorporated into the episode. For those who may not know, rotoscope animation is a form of animation in which actors perform scenes in live action, and animators draw over these live scenes, giving the show a unique look. Dream Corp LLC. is an awesome step in the right direction, and definitely worth checking out!
The John Krasinski-produced comedy is a bizarre and interesting ride, with great performances from actors Nick
Rutherford, Jon Gries, and Stephen Merchant. Dream Corp does a great job of establishing a world with characters like Doctor Roberts that I can’t wait to learn more about as the show progresses. The use of rotoscope animation while in the dream world is a great way to convey a dreamy and out-of-this-world experience, while using the live-action elements to keep the show in reality. Dream Corp LLC. has a certain charm to it that will keep me hooked, and keep me wondering what will happen next. The first episode of Dream Corp LLC. airs tonight, October 23rd, at 11:45 PM, following the Season 3 Premiere of Your Pretty Face is Going to Hell, on Adult Swim.
We also had a chance at New York Comic-Con to catch up with the creators and actors on the show.
